At Leweston we are lucky enough to have some of the most exceptional grounds in the area which can all be hired. The grounds were predominantly laid by the famous gardener Thomas Mawson in 1897. We have over 100 cedar trees of different varieties planted across the grounds dominating the eye line and creating impact. We are also very lucky to have some mixed woodland on site which houses our Forest School also available for hire.
Additionally the school grounds are available to be hired for photo shoots and filming. We suggest a site visit if you are interested in either. Our sweeping Belvedere is worth a visit.
These spaces can be hired subject to availability. To enquire about either of the spaces or the wider grounds please email: [email protected]
Our Belvedere is absolutely stunning. Inspired by the Villa d’Este in Tivoli, Florence we even have a replica of the Florentine Boar. The long elegant box-lined walkway creates images of days gone by and ends with a few small steps down into an expansive crescent shaped pavilion with far reaching views of the Blackmore Valley below. This part of the grounds is ideal for photo shoots and filming.
Located just outside the manor house, our Italian Gardens are designed around a central imposing pond and flanked by high box hedges creating a secluded space ideal for summer drinks parties and photo shoots.
The ‘Enchanted Wood’ (as we like to call it) has two clearings with log seating and fire pits. In one of the clearings, we have an all-weather awning so you won’t get caught in those showers. Available for private hire, this space lends itself well to small scout groups or small art groups. Any schools interested in hiring the space, please contact us directly.
